Once the things are up and running the books and boxes have to be returned to the shelves, in the proper order, and that takes time.
We calculate that this new system will give us about 40 per cent more storage space, which will be very welcome given the way things are expanding. The area we are looking at here is part of the shelving devoted to our collection of books, which already comes close to filling four sets of shelves, but there's also the archival boxes, not to mention the journals and other items.
Take another look at these pictures; they give you a peek behind the scenes that most visitors will never see. |
