It is the same tank alright and he confirms that the location is Rochester in Kent. We had identified it as a Mark III and this is confirmed, in this view, by the lifting hooks on the front end of the female sponson. You don’t find those on a Mark IV.
We now know the location for four Mark III tanks and for some reason three of them are in Kent; Canterbury, Maidstone and Rochester, does anyone know why?
Meanwhile Peter Hagger has made some progress on the other photograph we featured of the tank Britannia.
Based on information culled from an American website for postcard collectors there is evidence on the back of the card to prove that it was taken and published in the United States, late in 1917 or early 1918. But where, that is what we want to know, where?
